The memories that we made in South East Asia will be unforgettable. In Singapore, memorizing the MRT Train routes, stopping at each station with the feeling that you were in a different country every time, strolling through the colorfully bright street markets in Little India during Deepavali, having the best butter chicken with naan in an Indian restaurant, looking for the best satay in town, sipping Singapore Slings at their birthplace: The Raffles Hotel, rolling up our pants when going into the wet markets. In Thailand, getting a relaxing Thai message with Rebecca every day we were there, the Thai girls spoiling Caleb, Josh's encounter with Thai Food, learning that Sawatdee Kha and Khop Khun Kha will take you a long ways, snorkeling with Nemo fish, meeting the people whose lives completely changed due to the Tsunami.
I travel because I think of myself as an amateur anthropologist. Observing and being part of how people live, what they eat and what they wear. After experiencing all of the differences, we realize that the similarities are much greater. We are all people who are living in the same world, feeling the same emotions, expressing a welcome with a smile that can trespass every language barrier.
