Gracious News

We never know when the unexpected is to occur.

A group of us went to Pilot Lake Camp for the weekend. While we were there we decided that it would be fun to go sledding down a mountain. Before we allowed common sense to kick in (the mountain side was no where near sledding conditions) we were off sledding down. Dan had an accident while somersaulting down the mountain. It was really scary to find him lying on the ground on his back. One of the girls ran to get help (we were about 15 minutes away from the lodge). The paramedics were called and were on their way. We made sure that Dan did not move and kept him warm with coats and blankets while help arrived (about 2 hours).

We were in a remote location so he had to be put on a backboard and carried down the mountain. As soon as we made it down the Mediflight arrived to pick him up. He was flown over to a hospital in Chico. The place where we were at has no cell phone coverage so I drove up several miles until I had reception and could reach his parents. They quickly left for the hospital after finding out the news.

We thank God that it was not as worse as it could have been. After X-Rays, the doctors determined that he has a broken tailbone. Though very painful it is not as critical as it could have been.

He is at recovering at home and is doing well but in much pain.

Thanks to all who have been praying.
